A caregiver is a trusted person who supports a cancer patient through their treatment. Caregivers are often partners, siblings, children, parents, or friends of the person facing cancer, and the support they offer is multifaceted, ranging from the practical (driving to appointments, changing linens, making food, dispensing medication) to the emotional (talking, listening, hugging, holding space).

June is a month if new beginnings. June weddings, graduations, and commencement ceremonies, and of course the official start of Summer is all cause for celebration. So too is National Cancer Survivor Month. Every June, Look Good Feel Better honors the resilient spirit of the millions of cancer survivors in the United States and around the world, many of whom we’ve known and served through our programs.

This year on World Cancer Day, Look Good Feel Better (LGFB) will honor all cancer survivors who have struggled with this disease and now share a life-changing, universal experience with fellow survivors; caregivers and health care professionals who save lives and make cancer survivorship possible; and NGOs worldwide that assist cancer patients and help close the care gap by offering vital services and support during a cancer patient’s journey to wellness.
